From Classroomto Conservation: USM Interns Complete EGIPF Internship Program

The EGIP Foundation Inc. (EGIPF) proudly congratulates the six (6) BS Environmental Science and BS Biology students from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) for successfully completing their 480-hour Internship Program last May 26, 2026.

Throughout their immersion, the interns actively engaged in meaningful field and community-based activities, including:

  • 🌱 Tree planting and geotagging of planted trees

  • 🐾 Wildlife monitoring and forest foot patrolling with EGIPF staff and forest guards
  • 🗺️ Data gathering, mapping, and research documentation

  • 📚 Community education and environmental awareness activities
  • 🌾 Permaculture initiatives in Bayabas-Toril Reforestation Site

  • 🏕️ Cultural immersion with Indigenous Peoples communities


This internship experience provided them with practical exposure to environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable community development initiatives.

We sincerely extend our gratitude for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to learning. May the knowledge, skills, and values they gained at EGIPF serve as a strong foundation as they continue their academic journey and future professional endeavors.
